Homeschooling is gaining in popularity and therefore the demand for quality home school resources at a minimal cost is also growing.
Websites seem to be one method of filling this need in a cost effective and far reaching manner. Many of the websites and forums available are hosted by grass root organizations with a wealth of educational experience, both in the public and homeschool arenas. Behind these sites are organizations such as Family Christian Academy (FCA) and The Homeschool Legal Defense Association or HSLDA.
Homeschooling websites offer many resources to families actively involved in educating their children. Some of the resources available, in addition to resources on getting started, include printables, homework help, lesson plans, art ideas, state and provincial curriculum information, and business and social networking groups.

Handipoints: This is a wonderful parenting tool that can be used by homeschooling parents and parents whose children attend public school. Handipoints is a safe virtual world where parents create chore charts and allowances, and children adopt virtual characters that play games and watch movies. This site is best suited for children four to twelve and it teaches children how to work for their allowances and to recognize the rewards.
A Book In Time: A Book In Time was written by a teacher for other teachers. It began as a listing of history books, however it grew with the addition of crafts, timelines, maps and other resources. The purpose of this website, according to A Book In Time founder, is to help history teachers find the resources they need to teach their classes in the most enriching way possible.
